Bike Park Positions
All Bike Park Positions are part-time and do not include benefits. Hours may be up to 32 hours per week and may include weekends, late afternoons, early evenings and holidays. Thunder Mountain Bike Park is expected to be open May through October. Applications are being accepted through April 15 or until all positions have been filled. Applicants must be 18+ years old. Cori background checks may be required.
Bike Mechanic: Looking for a reliable, hardworking team player with good mechanical skills. Will be responsible for the general upkeep, repair, cleaning and maintenance of our mountain bike rental fleet as well as performing repair work on our guest’s bikes. Must have prior proven experience working in a bike repair shop.
Bike Trail Crew: Responsible for the general upkeep of our bike trails. Duties may include shoveling, grass mowing, haying, seeding, raking, mulching, weeding, planting, pruning, edging, watering, fertilizing, applying pesticides, and removal of trash and debris. Must be able to safely operate hand tools, power mowers, weed trimmers, sweepers, leaf blowers, and other small power equipment. Person must be reliable and hardworking with the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Must be able to follow directions and also be able to work unsupervised. ATV driving experience preferred.
Mountain Bike Guide: Responsible for guiding and providing bike instruction to guests at Thunder Mountain Bike Park. All guides will be required to complete either a level 1 or a level 1 and 2 guide course. Responsibilities include interacting with guests, providing orientation to bike park and bike instruction. Requirements include competent riding ability on all trails you guide, CPR and First Aid, good customer service skills, and strong communication skills. Must be available for all training courses. CORI background checks required.
Mountain Bike Patrol: Responsible for responding to any reported emergencies to evaluate injured guests and provide emergency care as appropriate. Must be able to safely navigate the terrain on a bicycle or ATV. Must become familiar with the first aid facilities and related equipment and protocols, including lift evacuation and communication systems. Will be required to attend bike guide training or have completed either a level 1 or a level 1 and 2 guide course. Qualifications are: Current Professional Rescuer CPR and (OEC, WFR, EMT, or better) emergency first aid responder. Bike patrol staff will be good ambassadors for our resort and available to provide first-aid for our other summer-time activities when necessary. ATV driving experience preferred. Bus Driver: Berkshire Whitewater is in need of experienced bus driver(s) to transport our rafting guests this season. Looking for a licensed school bus driver or someone with a minimum of a CDL Class B license with passenger & air brake endorsements. Position to start in mid-May and run through the fall season. Must have a flexible work schedule as our groups sometimes book last minute. This is a temporary part-time positions (up-to 32 hrs a week). Cori background check required.
Raft Guides: Berkshire Whitewater is looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to join our team as whitewater raft guides for our 2016 season. Applicants must be age 18+ and comfortable working in moving water, be customer service oriented and good with children. Duties include but are not limited to; preparation of gear prior to trip, positive interaction with guests, guiding of whitewater rafts, cleaning, proper maintenance of gear, driving company vehicles, & food preparation. Employment is contingent on passing a CORI background check and successful completion of our guide training program. Guides will also be required to have First Aid & CPR. Applicants are required to have a flexible schedule as hours vary. Guides must be available weekends, holidays, and some early evenings. Employment start dates will be based on experience, but applicants should expect to begin work around the start of May.
Mountain Coaster Positions
Mountain coaster workers: Responsibilities include verifying that all riders have tickets and meets the age, weight and height requirements. Workers will assist guests in loading and unloading coaster cars and providing them with instruction on safety protocols and the proper use of coaster cars. Duties also include inspection of tracks and cars, maintaining loading and unloading ramps, maintaining daily logs, and keeping the general area and coaster cars clean. Snow shoveling is required in winter months. You will be in direct contact with our guests and are expected to be friendly and helpful when greeting and assisting them. You will be working outside in all types of weather and must be agile on rough terrain, hard pack and soft snow surfaces. Applicants must be at least age 18. Cori background checks are required. You must pass on on-site training session in order to be hired. These are part-time positions (up to 32 hours per week), including weekends and holidays.
Zip Line Positions
Zip line guides: Responsible for guiding and providing instruction to guests that zip line at Berkshire East Canopy Tours. We are looking for staff who are people friendly, courteous, outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic. You must be good with children, patient, and able to provide clear instruction to guests. Applicants must be at least age 18, be comfortable working at heights, be physically fit, and must meet our weight requirements for zip line tours. You will be working outside in all types of weather and must be agile on rough terrain. Applicants are required to have a flexible schedule as hours vary. Guides must be available weekends, holidays, and some early evenings. You will be required to pass a Cori background check and guide training before being hired. Guides will also be required to have First Aid & CPR training which we will provide. These are temporary part-time positions (up-to 32 hrs a week). Positions for new guides are expected to start late June and/or early July with all training completed before that time. Our zip lines are expected to operate through the end of October.
Lift Attendants: We are looking to expand our lift crew as we head into our summertime activities. Lift attendants will be responsible for monitoring the loading and unloading of guests on chair and ground carpet lifts. Guests will include those using our zip lines, our bike park, or for other special events. Lift attendants will instruct guests on proper use of lifts and are expected to be friendly and helpful when greeting and assisting them. You will also be responsible for checking lift tickets and/or bike passes for anyone using the lifts. You will be working outside in all types of weather. Duties include setting up fencing and maintaining loading and unloading ramps, and assisting with some ground work. You may also be responsible for loading and unloading downhill mountain bikes on the lifts. You must be physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs. These are part-time positions, up to 32 hours per week. Our zip lines and mountain bike park are typically open May through October. Applicants must be age 18+. Cori background check required.
Customer Service Representative: Responsible for answering phones, taking reservations, checking in guests, responding to e-mails, and handling all types of sales transactions. Other tasks include selling tickets and working in the retail shop, and rotation of coverage for our call center. You must be computer savvy and able to quickly learn various point of sales systems and our Resmark reservation system. Representatives must be able to accurately handle all types of transactions in a fast paced setting. There is direct contact and interactions with guests answering questions and problem solving. You must be familiar with all aspects of Berkshire East and be able to provide clear directives and information to the guests. This position requires a friendly, helpful and outgoing personality. You must have a flexible schedule and be available to work many weekends, holidays, and some early evenings. Part-time hours, up to 32 hours per week. Positions run from May through October, with possible winter hours once the ski season starts. Applicants must be 18 or older.

Food Service Positions
Food Services Manager: Looking for someone with prior management experience in the food service industry. Must be a team player who can work well with others, making sure our guests have the best dining experience possible in our lodges. Oversees kitchen staff and assures that company standards are upheld on proper food preparation; kitchen safety techniques and that health standards are met and adhered to. Makes sure that food looks good and is cooked properly, the proportions are correct, and that food is cooked and served quickly by friendly and courteous staff. Must manage food and beverage inventory and order stock, keeping tabs on food cost and food waste. Must be computer savvy and able to learn and use our Digital Dining food software system. Responsible for hiring and managing kitchen staff, training, and setting work schedules. Must be well organized and maintain a clean and sanitary environment. Current Serve Safe certification required. All applicants must be at least 18 years old. This is a part-time position, up to 32 hours per week.
