Thunder Mountain Development Program
Program Dates: Sept 12, Sept 19, Sept 26, Oct 3 (Rain Date Oct. 10)
This weekly program meets Sundays for 4 weeks and is for young mountain bikers, age 7-13, looking to improve their skills and enter the sport of downhill mountain biking. This full day program is designed to allow kids with previous biking experience to learn the basics of XC and downhill riding and progress to being able to ride green and blue trails at Thunder Mountain Bike Park. Come enter the exciting realm of XC and downhill biking in a fun group environment with your peers!
Each day will run from 10am to 3pm, and consist of one 2 hour session in the morning and again in the afternoon. Lunch time will be supervised by our trained instructors. Skills, such as body position, cornering and braking will be reinforced on easier terrain before moving those skills onto the hill. Students should expect to learn the basics of skills such as line choice, riding uneven terrain and basics of jumping for those ready.
All participants will need to have their own bike, full face helmet and protective gear. Protective gear and helmets can be rented at Thunder Mountain Bike Park if needed.
